Transfer
Regardless of where your dives take place, your morning will begin with a transfer from your hotel to Chalong port. Usually the transfer time is from 7:00 for distant hotels in the Kamala area to 7:45 in the near Kata area.
Depending on your place of residence, the transfer will take from 10 minutes to 1.5 hours. Therefore, if you are planning to go to Phuket for diving, we recommend that you stay on one of the beaches - Kata, Karon, Patong and Kamala, since transfer from these beaches to Chalong port is free.
If you plan to live in the north of Phuket in the areas of Surin, Bang Tao, Nai Thon, Nai Yang or Mai Khao, as well as in Phuket Town, Cape Panwa or Thalang, you will have to pay additional transfer fees or travel to and from the port yourself.
Approximate morning transfer time:
6:45 - Kamala, Tritrang - free
7:00 - Nakalay, Kalim - free
7:00 - Patong - free
7:30 - Kata, Karon, Rawai, Naiharn - free
7:40 - Chalong - free
6:30 - Mai Khao - 2000 baht**
6:30 - Nai Yang, Nai Thon - 1800 baht**
6:30 - Laguna, Laiyang, Bangtao - 1600 baht**, 400 baht***
6:40 - Surin - 1600 baht**, 300 baht***
7:15 - Katu, Sirey, Panwa - 1200 baht**
7:20 - Phuket Town - 1200 baht**
** - private transfer, price per car.
*** - surcharge for transfer by shared minibus, per person.
We recommend staying on the beaches of Kata and Karon - transfer from these areas is as fast as possible! You will be able to sleep longer in the morning and return to the hotel in the evening as quickly as possible!
Food and drink on the ship
Don't worry if you didn't have time to have breakfast at the hotel - you can catch up on the ship and have breakfast before diving.
Some dive boats are even equipped with coffee machines, so you can perk up with a strong, aromatic drink before you go diving.
You won't have to go hungry during the day either - between dives you will have lunch, a variety of snacks and fruits. Tea, coffee, cocoa, and drinking water are included in the price of all trips.
Beer is not included in the price of your diving trip, so be sure to bring some small change with you to pay for what you drink at the end of the trip. We would like to remind you that alcoholic drinks can only be drunk after diving. Or instead. ;-)
If you have food allergies or are a vegetarian, please let us know and the chef will prepare the food according to your needs.
Diving trip time
Most dive sites are located at a considerable distance from Phuket. Even to the nearest island of Racha Yai, the dive boat takes almost an hour and a half, and the passage to the Phi Phi Islands can take almost three hours. So your diving trip in Phuket also turns into an exciting sea trip, during which you can chat with other divers and sunbathe on the top deck of the dive boat.
Approximate return time to Chalong Port:
-
3 dives on the islands of Racha Noi - Racha Yai - 16:00-17:00
-
3 dives on King Cruiser - Shark Point - Koh Doc Mai - 17:00-18:00
-
3 dives on the Phi Phi Islands - 18:00-19:00
The time to return to port very much depends on what time the ship leaves for sea. Please try to be on time for the morning transfer - this will help the ship return to port earlier.
Don't forget to take with you:
-
swimsuit / trunks
-
towel
-
sun cream
-
headdress
-
money for beer and underawater pics/videos (optional)
-
money for tips to the boat crew (usually 50-100 baht)
Important information
Traveling on a dive boat may not be very comfortable for the elderly, pregnant women and small children. Most likely they will feel better in a hotel room or on the beach.
If you or your family members get motion sickness, we recommend taking an anti-motion sickness pill in advance at the hotel. When boarding the ship, you can take another pill and forget about seasickness for the whole day.
